I bought this inverter mostly because of Hurricane Irene. I wanted to use it to power a small freezer and possibly a TV/DVD player so we didn't have to sit in the dark. No problems running a Vizio 32" LCD and a Vizio Blu-ray player. Also no problems running my Dell XPS and 24" LCD screen (separately of course). Forget the freezer. As soon as I plugged it in the red light came on indicating an overload. However this unit did run my sump pump for over an hour with two 12 volt 1000ah batteries in series before the battery voltage fell off and it shut down.
If you install this unit in your car or truck remember to install a heavy duty cut off switch on the power lead as close to the battery as you can. If you don't have some way to shut the unit off it will stay powered up in a sort of "sleep" mode and draws enough that I would think you could drain the battery and find yourself stranded.
NOTE: Don't worry if the fans don't start up right away. They don't run unless the unit is under a load of 50% or more. I thought mine was defective since my smaller inverter runs it's fans all the time.

This inverter works great .I had another one ,different brand , that shorted out the fuse and couldn't be fixed . I got this one in the hopes that it would take the high use I put them through. So far , it has worked great .
